Great product if you know how to use it. November 26, 2009 Brian Fensch 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
With all the negative reviews I've seen for this product, I can't believe no one has said anything like this. The Easycap is a GREAT product. For the price, you're getting more than what you've paid. No, the software does NOT crash constantly. If it does, it's your computer. It DOES record in color with clear sound, you just haven't adjusted the settings well. I hate seeing a negative review on a product when the negative is actually the user.
If you have any troubles with the product, go to youtube, look up some quality settings and follow them. You will have a great product.

Easycap will and does work March 29, 2010 Andy S. Davis (Oregon) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the Easycap device to transfer vhs to dvd and I must admit it was very frustrating trying to get it to work. I searched the internet for a week reading reviews pros/cons of the device etc. then I realized I had plugged it in to front usb's on my pc and once switched to the back usb's presto worked like a charm. Ulead studio 10 that comes with it is a piece of crap, it provided substantial lag between audio and video (about 3-4 sec.) so I used windows movie maker and everything trasnferred no problem. I run a 2.9 ghz dual AMD processor, 4 gigs ram on XP for OS. I have read that there a problems with vista 32 and it WILL NOT work on vista 64. This device has more than paid itself off for me!!!!
CCTV Camera Capture August 11, 2009 db92usb (Miami, Fl) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Part of my work includes installing CCTV cameras. We would normally use a B & W battery powered 5" television, the kind you would use as an emergency, before the FCC turned off the analog tv bandwidth. The tv worked pretty well, we would use a BNC to RCA connector to connect to the tv input on the back. Sometimes the focus would not be sharp enough the first go around, and we would have to re-adjust once the camera was connected to the DVR, and we could see the image on the DVR monitor. I had entertained buying a TFT battery powered colored monitor used for this type of work, but with the prospect of spending over $200.00 for an occasional use tool, I decided to look for something simplier, and less expensive. This EZ Cap device fits the bill for me. I always carry a laptop for most of my work, so I don't need to carry anything special. The EZ Cap allows me to connect to an external camera with just a BNC to RCA connector. The software works pretty good for me, I only had to go into Options> Video and Audio Capture Property Settings, change the Video TV system to NTSC. Now I can use the full size of my laptop monitor to adjust the focus and aim of the picture I'm getting. I can also capture and save an image of the camera to either .avi or .mp4 for verification of install.
Bought to replace... February 18, 2010 Shanel Fowler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought it as a gift, but it works great. The other one was falling apart since they had it so long, so I felt obligated to buy a new one for them. It may not be high quality or HD, but at least I got something I could afford.
